Ep. 34Episode 34: The Aftermath

The Multiverse has never been so vast — nor so accessible. The Era of Omenpaths has transformed the very nature of interplanar travel. What was once the exclusive privilege of planeswalkers is now open to all. The future is written every day, one passage at a time.

This episode concludes our main chronicle and opens the door to the future of Magic: The Gathering.

The State of the Multiverse

In the current year of the Multiverse, the landscape is radically different from what it was before the March of the Machine:

  • The Omenpaths connect most of the major planes
  • Interplanar trade is a daily reality
  • Migrations have created multicultural communities
  • Conflicts can now extend beyond a single world

This new Multiverse is both richer and more dangerous than ever.

Planeswalkers Today

The planeswalkers remain central figures, but their role has evolved. They are no longer the only travellers between planes — but they remain among the most powerful and most experienced.

The Gatewatch

The Gatewatch still exists, though transformed by trials:

  • Chandra — More mature, but still at the heart of the action
  • Teferi — The group's sage, seeking to preserve temporal balance
  • Kaya — The ghost assassin, now a diplomat despite herself
  • Ajani — Healed but haunted, seeking redemption
  • Nissa — Rebuilding her connection to the land, plane by plane

Emerging Threats

New threats loom on the horizon of the interconnected Multiverse:

Tezzeret

Tezzeret, the former servant of Nicol Bolas, survived his master's fall. The Planar Bridge he created no longer exists, but his knowledge remains — and his ambitions have not diminished.

The Phyrexian Remnants

Although New Phyrexia has fallen, pockets of corruption persist on many planes. Cultists attempt to revive the Phyrexian flame. Corrupted artefacts surface in black markets. The threat is not extinguished — only scattered.

The Forgotten Gods

Certain ancient powers are beginning to awaken. The interconnection of planes through the Omenpaths has attracted the attention of entities that have slept for aeons. The more open Multiverse is also a more vulnerable one.

The New Heroes

A new generation of heroes emerges, shaped by the Era of Omenpaths:

  • Kellan — The young half-blood of Eldraine, half-human half-faerie, travelling from plane to plane in search of his father
  • Quintorius — The loxodon archaeologist from Strixhaven, documenting the history of the planes
  • Saheeli Rai — The inventor from Kaladesh, creating technologies that transcend borders

These new faces will carry the future of the Multiverse.

The Future

The story of Magic: The Gathering never stops. Each expansion brings new adventures, new worlds, new heroes and villains.

The mysteries that await the Multiverse are many:

  • What lies beyond the known Omenpaths?
  • Which planes remain yet to be discovered?
  • Which old enemies might resurface?
  • What new alliances will form to face the challenges ahead?

Conclusion: Thirty Years of Adventure

From the Elder Dragon War in primordial times, through the rise and fall of the Thran Empire, the Brothers' War, the Ice Age, the Eldrazi and Phyrexian invasions, Magic's Multiverse has experienced thirty years of epic stories.

Each arc has left its mark. Each hero and each villain has shaped what the Multiverse has become. And every player who has held Magic cards in their hands has taken part in this ongoing story.

The Era of Omenpaths is not an ending — it is a new beginning. The Multiverse is vaster, more connected, and richer in possibilities than ever.

The adventure continues.
