On June 8, 2026, The Command Zone kicked off the preview season for Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes by revealing Avengers Assemble<\/strong>, the first of the set's four preconstructed Commander decks. Led by Captain America, Team Leader in Jeskai identity, this 100-card precon focuses on Hero creatures and +1\/+1 counters. Worldwide release on June 26, 2026. Here's what's inside, its strategy, and how to protect your cards.<\/p>

Avengers Assemble: What's in the preconstructed Commander deck<\/h2>

Avengers Assemble is one of the four preconstructed Commander decks for Marvel Super Heroes, alongside Wakanda Forever, The Fantastic Four, and Doom Prevails. Each deck also comes in a Collector edition, for eight products in total. It's a classic 100-card Commander deck, ready to play right out of the box.<\/p>

Under the hood, Wizards slips in around thirty brand-new cards; the rest of the list is made up of reprints. The full official decklist, commanders included, is published by Wizards of the Coast (link in sources). The deck is part of one of the largest product line-ups in Magic's history, according to Wizards: Play Boosters, Collector Boosters, Beginner Box, Jumpstart Boosters, Welcome Decks, Scene Boxes, and the four Commander decks all coexist in this release. Strategy: Heroes, +1\/+1 counters, and Jeskai identity<\/h2>

The deck is Jeskai identity \u2014 white, blue, and red. Its main commander is Captain America, Team Leader<\/strong>, backed by a secondary commander, Director Nick Fury<\/strong>. This two-commander structure lets you choose which one to lead with based on your hand and your game plan.<\/p>

The engine relies on Hero creatures. Whenever a Hero creature enters the battlefield, it and Captain America each gain a +1\/+1 counter. Better still: the new creature gains vigilance and haste until end of turn. It can therefore attack immediately while staying available to defend, which makes its attacks hard to punish.<\/p>

A word of caution about the marketing: the box plays up an \"equipment\" theme, but analysis of the decklist shows the heart of the deck remains Heroes and stacking +1\/+1 counters. Equipment plays a supporting role, not the main axis. Marvel Super Heroes features other thematic commanders, such as Lucky, the Pizza Dog<\/a>, which we've also broken down.<\/p>

Key cards and new additions: around thirty new cards out of 100<\/h2>

Of the 100 cards, around thirty are brand new. Sources differ on the exact figure: some aggregators report 29 new cards, others 30, for roughly 70 reprints. Hence our caution \u2014 go with \"around thirty\" rather than a fixed number until the official card-by-card count is cross-checked.<\/p>

The two confirmed cards at the center of the deck are its commanders, Captain America, Team Leader and Director Nick Fury. To view each card and its oracle text as previews roll out, Scryfall lists the entire set under the codes MSH (main set) and MSC (Commander cards).<\/p>

In terms of value, a Commander precon isn't designed to be optimized out of the box: the thirty or so new cards target the Heroes theme, while the reprints provide the mana base and the generic pieces. It's a solid foundation to upgrade card by card, according to your budget and your local meta.<\/p>

Release date, prerelease, and availability in France \/ Europe<\/h2>

The worldwide release is set for June 26, 2026, simultaneously in France, Europe, and elsewhere: this is the standard schedule for a Magic set. In-store prereleases run from June 19 to 25, 2026, most often at your local game store, which receives the set early.<\/p>

With the preview season having started on June 8, expect cards to be revealed gradually up to release. No France-specific date or distributor pricing has been announced at this stage: the set follows the worldwide June 26 availability. Be wary of separate \"French dates\" that may circulate without an official source.<\/p>
