Kamigawa is a world of spirits and mortals.<\/strong> For millennia, the two realms coexisted in peace. But when a mortal warlord committed an unforgivable sacrilege, he unleashed a war that nearly destroyed both worlds.<\/p>\n\n

The World of Spirits<\/h2>\n\n

O-Kagachi was the most powerful of the kami \u2014 and his rage knew no bounds.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n

On Kamigawa, every object, every place, every concept had a kami<\/strong> \u2014 a spirit that embodied it. These spirits lived in a parallel realm, the Kakuriyo<\/strong>, separated from the mortal world (Utsushiyo<\/strong>) by a mystical veil.<\/p>\n\n

Mortals and kami maintained a relationship of mutual respect. Humans made offerings to the spirits, and the kami blessed their worshippers in return.<\/p>\n\n

Konda's Sacrilege<\/h2>\n\n

The object stolen by Konda was a fragment of O-Kagachi himself \u2014 an unforgivable crime.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n

Konda<\/strong>, warlord of Eiganjo, did the unthinkable. To obtain immortality, he stole a sacred fragment of O-Kagachi<\/strong>, the great kami. This theft unleashed the fury of the spirit world.<\/p>\n\n

The Kami War<\/strong> erupted. The spirits, once benevolent, attacked the mortal world indiscriminately. Entire villages were destroyed. Thousands of people perished.<\/p>\n\n
