Mirrodin, the perfect metal world created by Karn, is corrupted.<\/strong> A Phyrexian infection, dormant for centuries, awakens and begins to transform the plane. What was once a paradise of silver and steel becomes a nightmare of fused flesh and black oil.<\/p>\n\n

Karn's Legacy<\/h2>\n\n

When Karn<\/strong> created Mirrodin, he didn't realize he carried within him the seeds of destruction. Phyrexian oil \u2014 the corrupted substance that transformed organic life into mechanical horrors \u2014 had contaminated the golem during his travels through Phyrexia.<\/p>\n\n

\"Darksteel<\/a>
The darksteel colossi represented the original power of Mirrodin \u2014 before the corruption.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n

This oil, invisible and patient, had infiltrated the very heart of Mirrodin. For centuries, it had waited, slowly spreading, infecting the mycosynth \u2014 the living metal that formed the foundation of all life on Mirrodin.<\/p>\n\n

The First Signs<\/h2>\n\n

The inhabitants of Mirrodin first noticed subtle changes. Metal creatures developed bizarre organic growths. The mycosynth took on grotesque shapes. A black, oily substance appeared in the dark corners of the world.<\/p>\n\n

The colossi corrupted by Phyrexian oil became terrifying weapons of destruction.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n

Then came the Phyrexians<\/strong> themselves \u2014 creatures born from the nightmarish fusion of metal and flesh, driven by a single will: to transform everything that exists into their own image.<\/p>\n\n

The Awakening of the Praetors<\/h3>\n\n

From the corrupted heart of Mirrodin emerged the Praetors<\/strong> \u2014 five entities of terrifying power, each embodying an aspect of Phyrexian philosophy:<\/p>\n\n
